I have yet to see a tarball that built with no errors.  Among the more
common:

Various parts of termcap or games have ^I lines, which break make.
regress complains something arcane aboug sigsetjump, but that may be
obsoleted.

There have been various other trivialities.  Currently, I get errors
for MAX_FLOAT redefined building the libs.
