current-users: PPP revision?

Is ppp-2.1.2 from merit.edu more or less recent than the PPP installed in
netbsd-current?  (I take it that it's probably more recent, since the
patchlevel.h file in pppd/ claims to be 2.1.)  Is anyone else working on
updating this?
