well, I followed (i thought) cgd's instructions, and made/installed gcc
before doing my make build. I'm now unable to complete a make build, stuck
on libg++, and re-makes of usr.bin/gcc2 infinite loop re-compiling cse.c
under common.

nobody else can be seeing this or the lists would be melting, so I must
have mis-understood what the steps were.

can I beg for an idiotproff canonical list of instructions to get to
current from 1.0 so I can go back to dist and start again? I've now
replicated this on two distinct 386 platforms.

(sigh) sorry to be an eternal plain

happy 1995
