Then that problem is probably still there.  I've not tried it.  (i
guess i'll add that to the Big Blue Todo List on my white board...)

I think there might have been a PR on this -- but for UFS files which
had been vnconfig'd.  (I'm not sure.)  I've never seen a problem like
this with _local_ files when vnd's were being used correctly, but
when they're misused (e.g. zero them out while still mounted), it's
really easy to kill the system.
