And you wouldn't necessarily *require* a PMMU.  HP had their own
MMU for some of the hp300 workstations as did Apollo (back before
HP digested Apollo).  Apollo used something that was pin compatible
to a PMMU (DMMU) but was actually a daughterboard plugged into the
68851 socket and in terms of software was also mostly compatible.
