I was preparing to install the NetBSD/SPARC 1.0 final release binaries over
my already-extant last Beta snapshot, and decided to go rooting down through
my tree to see what cruft I still had lying around. In doing so I noticed
that some doc directories have either acquired new names (usually gaining
new chapter numbers in the process) or have apparently vanished. I'd guess
this happened due to a move to 4.4BSD-Lite based docs, but I'm not sure.
i.e., should I worry about the disappearance of any of the following
presumed-to-be pre-1.0 oldies:
/usr/share/doc/usd/10.etiq/* (How to Use USENET Effectively)
/usr/share/doc/usd/09.newsread/* (How to Read the Network News)
/usr/share/doc/usd/07.Mail/* (Mail Reference Manual)
/usr/share/doc/smm/20.termdesc/* (Writing NROFF Terminal Descriptions)
/usr/share/doc/smm/02.config/* (Building Berkeley UNIX Kernels w/ ...)
/usr/share/doc/ps1 (Directory itself no longer exists?)
/usr/share/doc/ps1/14.sccs/* (Introduction to the Source Code Control System)
/usr/share/doc/ps1/13.rcs (Introduction to RCS)
Any enlightenment as to the state of available docs in 1.0 vs. previous
editions appreciated.
