This is likely the wrong list but I am not (yet) subscribed to port-i386
as my main machine is a SPARCstation...please forgive the intrusive
wide distribution.

Either the boot floppies are corrupt for i386, or I am doing something
grossly wrong, or the boot floppies don't work on Compaq 486/66 machines.

I am downloading from a SPARCstation IPX onto its floppy drive, using:

dd if=kcaha-10.fs of=/dev/rfd0c obs=18b conv=sync

...since Sun says use obs of 18 blocks, since each side of the disk holds
18 blocks of data.

I retrieved ftp.netbsd.org:/pub/NetBSD/arch/i386/floppies/{kcaha,inst}-10.fs
(.gz and unzipped them...) as of 10:00 Monday 24 October 1994.

...anyone?
