Could someone tell me why the new binaries of XFree-3.1 are so big?

My old XF86_Mach8 is about 905216 Bytes, the new XF86_Mach32 is
about 1851392 Byte, that is more than double. And the latter one
is a dynamically linked executable. I thought that are smaller.

Or did I miss something?
