[one of a few email messages asking me about the tarballs...]

The last sup scan was done when there were only 7/24 tarballs. The
7/31 tarballs weren't made until after Sunday's sup scan, and a sup
scan hasn't run since. Chris said he's going to make up a whole new
batch of tarballs (I assume binary and source) and put them on
sun-lamp, then he's going to run a new sup scan Real Soon Now (which I
assume means today or tomorrow). After he does so, ftp.iastate.edu
will pick them up no more than half a day later.

Lots of assumptions, but rest assured that your mirrors are still
accurately mirroring whatever sun-lamp gives them to mirror. :-) If
you ever assume ftp.iastate.edu has broken somehow, you can look in
ftp.iastate.edu:/log/ and look at the timestamp on sup.log to see
whether it's been run recently. It also contains the last session
output from the most recent sup. If, in fact, it's not running a sup
every half day, please tell me so I can fix it. If it's just having
problems getting things from sun-lamp, however, that is not my fault,
and there's nothing I can do.
