I think it is; has _ANYONE_ been able to fsck -c 2 a wd drive?
   i know it's failed for the one (small) one that i have.

I was able to get it to work on a small /var partition (~16MB) in the
middle of a disk.

Taking this as a good omen (and that was a mistake..), I decided to
also hit a much larger /usr partition, which died immediately (hard
reset, no saving throw).
