Of course if we say that a user on a NetBSD system gets SysV creation
semantics over NFS to a server which does such a beastie (which I agree
is correct), then we really need a "newgrp" command so that said user
can still have some control over the group the files are created with
without having to chgrp all the time.
Actually, I prefer the SysV semantics...I would be kind of nice if
both ufs and nfs mounts supported the "grpid" option like Sun's NFS
mount does. Then the system could select the behavior it wishes.
