Subject: Re: NFS MOUNTS ON NETBSD-CURRENT WITH SOLARIS 2.X?
: The NFS server here is SunOS 4.1.x, likewise. No NFS problems that I am
: aware of for several weeks, perhaps more.
In my case; the NetBSD/i386 machine is the NFS server and the SunOS machine
is the client. I don't believe I have problems with the reverse.
The symptoms I am seeing (with if_ed) are that small transactions are
fine (mount, ls), but actually copying files (from a SunOS client to
a NetBSD/i386 server) will cause a hang.
with if_ep; I am seeing everything work fine for a while and then eventually
an mbuf starvation situation will arise. This is NFS only though. I don't see
this with TCP traffic. I was going to try NFS/TCP but haven't had time.
Rumor has it this only affects slow machines (I have a 386-40). Again;
my hp345 (68030 @ 55Mhz) running NetBSD doesn't have this problem. It's
currently my NFS server until this problem is resolved.
The only reason I'm talking about this is because I don't have any time to
track down the problem myself.
