I've installed all the gunk I believe I needed to for newsyslog to do
the right thing.  However, any time it kicks in and kill -HUP's syslog,
my console keyboard hangs.

Any hints on if this is a hardware problem os some bizzare sort, software,
or config, and how to fix it?
