umm, i'm not sure that i buy this -- sun-lamp has been up since
before i left town, and it's been running a 12/10 kernel...

i can think of one serious kernel change in the week before you sent
your mail, and it would have *helped* stability; it was a *fix*
for lots of lamp's recent hangs...
