Hmm, if you use syscons prior to version 1.2 (the one I posted
resently) you get this "feature" on NetBSD when there are vty's
that doesn't have gettys running on them.
The kernel panic's because the tty struct isn't allocated on a
not active vty when the server tries to find an empty vty via 
VT_OPENQRY. This is fixed in version 1.2 that is the FIRST 
official version that supports NetBSD.
