 The removal of the .libs component form an automatically detected source
 directory has been addressed in 052545b0d187c7f6b1f651bcfea945e92527d9d8.

 There are still cases where libtool messes things up but these don't show
 up in NetBSD.  Need to have access to a modern Linux to reproduce.
