Hello out there,

Thanx for the *fast* response to my first question about installing X11R6 !
Finally fixed this one "gzcat filename | bla bla bla...", X11 runs perfectly in
"mono mode" on the ADos display.
But the next bug occoures in one of the next steps of installation...
Point "3" of the ReadMe file delivered with the X11 package tells me (in my
mind !) to do this:

Save the following lines to a seperate file:

and call it for e.g. "PatchMan"

So I did. The following command

      "cat PatchMan | (cd / ; patch -p)"

fails with the following output:

Hmm... Looks like a new style contex diff to me
The text leading to this was
-------------------------
*** /etc/man.conf-orig Wed Jan 18 01:43:21 1995
--- /etc/man.conf Fri Sep 8 01:45:47 1995

Patching file /etc/man.conf using plan A
Hunk #1 failed at 28
Hunk #2 failed at 41
2 of 2 hunks failed--saving rejects to /etc/man.conf.rej
done

And of course, the following (testing) command

      "man startx"

fails with

man: no entry for startx in the manual

What have I got to do to fix this error(s)? Obviously there is another mistake
in the installation docs. (Or I can't read them in the right way). Whatever, I'd
be very happy to get X11R6 fully installed (and having access to the man pages
via the "man" command ;-) )

Thanx, greetings & good night (take a look at the time stamp :-) )

Ernst
