Ok, I found a dd statement in distrib/floppies/amiga/inst-common/Makefile.inc
It was writing 80K chunks, count=22.
I reduced count to 11, when I generated the vndf file it came to a total of
901120 bytes which was good, but I got an error. Now I am stuck. Any clue?
 

I also forgot to mention that to build the distribution floppies you need
to add the pseudo-device vnd and rebuild your kernel, then compile and
install the crunchgen program.
