I remember Alan asking this.  Now I have the same question.  What is up 
with this ...?  Can somebody explain the difference between the 4.2, 
4.3, and 4.4?  disklabel reports everything as 4.2, the -O in the man 
for newfs says that -O reverts back to 4.3 format and the new format is 
4.4?  I don't get it.  :-(
