  Which "netbsd-current" kernel?  There's only about 300 or so possibilities
of a "netbsd-current" kernel, starting from when 1.0 was released.  A date
of the source tree used to create the kernel would be helpful.

  That sounds like the mis-placed clearing of the mmudebug flag which
was present for a short while.  Was your kernel compiled with DEBUG (and
not with DDB)?  The current code has that problem corrected (as far as I
know).
