Is there a FAQ somewhere to help when you have problems on installation?

Here's my problem if someone wants to take a wack at it:
I have an Amiga 3000/WB 2.0/6 Meg. First problem I encountered was that the
DOSType in my version of HDToolbox was called a generic "Identifier". So
I'm not sure if the partitions were set up satisfactorily. (Yeah, I know my
system is old...) After setting the partitions up as specified in the
Install document (as close as I could manage), I booted the kernel and
loaded the install floppy. The install script could never find my root
drive. Any suggestions?

Is there a DOS upgrade in my near future? I really didn't want to spend any
more money on my Amiga right now... (esp. since my 1950 monitor died while I
was still trying to figure out a way to install NetBSD)

TIA,
Dave.
