I am having problems INSTALLING NetBSD-1.0/amiga via tape. Please take a
look at the information regarding this and let me know if you can help.
I need to use tape if all possible, because I don't have the spare room on
the other drives to install from, and NFS installation at 14.4 just won't
cut it eh? :)
This is my tape-drive information that NetBSD reports during bootup:
----
ahsc0 targ 4 num 0: <ARCHIVE VIPER 150 20000-000> SCSI1 sequential removable
st0 at scsibus 1: rogue, density code 0x0, 512-byte blocks, write-enabled
----
Now, here is the error I am receiving when trying 'Load_tape', or trying
to do it manually myself. I've trying all the /dev/st variants (rst, etc.)
----
st0(ahsc0:4:0): illegal request
st0: cannot set selected mode
st0: bad request, must be between 0 and 512
tar: read error on /dev/rst0 : Input/output error
----
Thats it! The drive works fine for me via AmigaOS using BTN-handler and
tar. That is what I used to create the tape for installation as well.
Now, if I could just get the data off the tape in NetBSD I'd be ready to
setup! :)
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer, I would appreciate it!
