I want to thank everybody for answering my question about telnet.
It turns out that the tty was not marked as secure, once I marked it a such
it worked just fine.  Except for FTP it won't let me in.  But in anycase I
got a very big response from everybody.  Thanks All

Question 2

I try to use chpass and vipw to change the uid to something other than zero.
However when ever I quit the vi I get this error.
pwd_mkdb: /etc/pwd.db.tmp: Inappropriate file type or format.

Does anybody know what causes that to happen? Thanks for the help. I can't
change anybodys passwords until I find out what the error is.  Thanks for
help in advance.
