I've experienced similar things on my system when using /dev/rcd0 and /dev/rst0.
My X display would suddenly (this sounds weird) de-interlace itself horizontally.
That is, every other pixel horizontally would just stop updating. Everything
still worked, it just didn't look right.
My system - A3000/25, 2C, 12F, Spectrum, Xcl or Xcl16, NetBSD 1.0A (current).
Since we both have odd problems with X and /dev/*, I'd suspect either there is no
connection, and we are both mentally deficient, or there is a problem in handling
devices (not the drivers themselves).
