Hi there, I have a problem getting X to run on my system

When I run Xdaniver, or X ( which is a softlink to Xdaniver ) the mouse
pointer moves just fine, but when run from startx (xinit) it just hangs
just like the keyboard.

The needed devices are present, the window manager also starts fine, bu=
t
input is blocked!

xdm doesn't even bring up the display...

Can anybody help me ?
