Finally I found out how to use all my A2024's grayscales with NetBSD
and X:
Xdaniver is perfectly capable of running this, it just doesn't pick
the right visual by default. But it can be told to use "StaticGray",
by using "-cc 0" in its commandline.
I.e. using something like:
startx -- /usr/local/X11R6/bin/Xdaniver -cc 0 -width 1024 -height 800 -depth 2
will give you a perfect X environment for the A2024. fvwm and other
Motif-lookalikes will look perfectly! (Well, as good as possible on
the A2024..)
Martin
P.S.:
Thanks to Holger Kruse for explaining X visuals and giving helpful
hints! BTW: he seems to be working on a great X11 server for AmigaDOS
(to appear quite soon).
