Personally I have always wanted to use gcc 2.6.2 rather than the
supplied gcc 2.4.5 ... It is possible to resolv the memcpy successfylly
by adding /usr/lib/libc.a to the Makefile (just after vers.o or
something similar) for the final link phase.

*however* I am upgrading from 1.0Beta to the -current NetBSD myself and
I am beginning to believe that (unfortunately) it *is* required to use
the supplied gcc 2.4.5 (has someone built -current with 2.6.x ?).

I will write down the details in my next poster.

PS: I regret that the -current kernel would be compiler dependent (in
fact compiler version dependent).

 Greetings,
