I have a Retina Z2 and a Zeus 040 card and have never experienced
anything similar. What videomode do you use? I have a self-made
128x96 char ASCII console. Is there an ADOS program with which one
can test the text mode of Retina? If so, try running such a program
in ADOS to see if the problem is NetBSD-related or not. When you
boot, is the 040 recognized by NetBSD? Is scrolling in Retina done by
HW or SW? If it's software it seems that the videoram copying gets an
off by one error, you don't have an odd amount of characters per line,
by any chance?

I suggest you try to run in different videomodes to see if the problem
is there in all of them. If it's not then report here what videomodes
fail.

Good luck!

Niklas
