you're more than welcome to make those packages DTRT with
buildlink[23] and USE_GCC3. I'm not sure the demand is there, however,
since nobody has come forward about it afaicr...

and as has been pointed out before, lang/gcc3 is much faster to build
than a number of sub-packages if you want everything. I'm certainly
not ruling out an option to build the whole lot in one step from those
sub-packages, though.
