Thx for the info/help rec'd.  I did a
semi-kinda-binary-search for the "right" sources w/ cvs -D
<date> (2000-03-17 [too late], 03-01 [too early], 03-07
[close, but no cigar]), in all cases getting "compile fell
over not too far into it".  I will wait for the next
zoularis sync point, and try again.
