if these are the disk images, then it looks like qemu didn't open the
vnd devices. I guess you'll have to track what else, beside the backends
is opening theses. Maybe fstat can help for this as well.

the NetBSD kernel should print what devices it opens in backends
(like: xbd backend: attach device vnd0d (size 20971520) for domain 7),
can you check that the backend isn't opening the devices twice ?
