Looks like you simply don't have it in your kernel config file.
You need (look at the CARDBUS config file):

# CardBus bridge support
cbb*            at pci? dev ? function ?
cardslot*       at cbb?

# CardBus bus support
cardbus*        at cardslot?
pcmcia*         at cardslot?
