Actually, we have a couple of 3/50s at work with 16mb in them...Some 
company made this little frob that plugged into the MMU socket.  The MMU 
then plugged into this daughter board, and the daughter board had slots 
for standard SIMMs.  The 4mb of RAM on-board was disabled.

You might be able to find some of these things around, though I don't 
remember the name of the manuacturer.
