Hi,

  Thanks to everyone for all the responses to our question about using
a serial console.  I'm waiting until the weekend to try them out
(it's my roommates computer and she is away during the weekend and we're
going to work on it togehter :-) but it sounds as if changing the EEPROM
settings is what I want to do.
