The sun3 installation instructions say to put the following in /etc/exports:

/export/netbsd.sun3/usr -ro
/export/client -rw=client,root=client

But mountd doesn't like the syntax of the second line:

Aug  3 11:15:50 dart19 mountd[42]: Bad opt rw
Aug  3 11:15:50 dart19 mountd[42]: Bad exports list line /usr/src/export/annie.bbn.com -rw

If we change that line to:
/usr/src/export/annie.bbn.com /usr/src/export/annie.bbn.com/root -maproot=root annie.bbn.com

the kernel will load and start, but eventually die:
