I have a grayscale monitor connected to a cg2 card.

If I run Xsunmono, it can't find any screens.

If I run Xsun, I get a very nice display, in 8 bitplanes (256 levels of gray).

Is there an easy way for me to decrease the display depth so I can get better
performance?  Can performance be improved, say, by going to a 1-bitplane
display?
