There’s a modern replacement for the unobtainium Asante box, at least in Germany it never shows up, and if it does then for incredible prices.The RaSCSI project added Ethernet-over-SCSI-capabilities a while ago, and it’s open source, so the "hardware" implementation of it is known. The RaSCSI emulates a DaynaPort SCSI/Link-T, so any compatible drivers for that should work without problems.
