~40k/sec -- sounds slow, bur wouldn't surprise me -- AppleTalk/DDP was not
exactly designed for fast lines.

Get the latest netatalk-asun (2.1.4-35) and an AppleShare/IP client driver
from Apple -- ASIP is noticeably faster even on m68k Macs. About FTP speed
(~200 k/sec) from a NetBSD 1.4.1 IIci to a MacOS 7.5.5 Duo 280.
