vr0: transmit aborted - errors after update from 3.1 to 5.0_BETA

vr0: transmit aborted - errors after update from 3.1 to 5.0_BETA

Help!

I've just attempted to update a VIA C3 EPIA Mini-ITX system from
NetBSD-3.1 to NetBSD-5.0_BETA but now have problem with network
transfers causing "vr0: transmit aborted" messages.

Prior to update I backed up much of this system over the lan via
nfs and same network interface without noticing any problem except
that transfer seemed slow compared to other systems I use.

I have another PD6000E system on a more recent 3.1.0 and an ME6000G
(Via C3 Nehemiah) system on 4.0 that I'd also like to update to 5.0
for wapbl.

Dmesg from 3.1 and 5.0_B are below.
