I just put a new TEAC CD recorder on my AHA-1542CF scsi controller.
Previously I had another CD-ROM drive (read only) on this controller
which worked perfectly.  When trying to mount a disc on the new CD-R,
I get the following errors:

cd0(aha0:4:0) timed out
cd0(aha0:4:0) timed out
cd0(aha0:4:0) timed out
cd0(aha0:4:0) timed out

Then, when trying to read the disc with dd, I get:

cd0(aha0:4:0): medium error, data = 00 00 00 25 09 02 00 00 00 00
Input/output error

Any clue where I should start looking for the cause of the problem?
FWIW, the CD-R works fine on the same machine running Linux, but I
would prefer not to have to go to Linux just to use my CD-R.
