Subject: problems with applixware 4.3

Received my copy of Applixware 4.3 today (the linux version, of course).
I think install was ok, but when I try to run Applix, I get this:

jmarin@kyyhky /tmp/ap %(48)/opt/applix/applix
jmarin@kyyhky /tmp/ap %(49)Channel to X-server has been closed: Invalid argument
start process: connect: No such file or directory
Channel to X-server has been closed: Invalid argument

If I ktrace Applix, things seem to go well for quite some time, but then:

 11704 axmain RET read 433/0x1b1
 11704 axmain CALL close(0xf)
 11704 axmain RET close 0
 11704 axmain CALL munmap(0x19218000,0x2000)
 11704 axmain RET munmap 0
 11704 axmain CALL gettimeofday(0xf7bfd568,0xf7bfd560)
 11704 axmain RET gettimeofday 0
 11704 axmain CALL ioctl(0xc,_IO('T',0x1b,0),0xf7bfcb5c)
 11704 axmain RET ioctl 0
 11704 axmain CALL oldselect(0xf7bfd33c)
11704 axmain RET oldselect -1 errno -22 Unknown error: 4294967274
 11704 axmain CALL write(0x2,0xf7bfc864,0x36)
11704 axmain GIO fd 2 wrote 54 bytes
"Channel to X-server has been closed: Invalid argument
       "
I believe file 0xc is the socket used to talk to the X server.

I'm (still) on NetBSD 1.2. Does anyone know how to find out why Applix
won't run? Applixware 4.2 works just fine, but I want to upgrade to
get some bugfixes and new import/export filters.

Please help before my wife gets home and finds out I've broken Applix... :)
