Neither NetBSD, FreeBSD, nor Linux use the Adaptec supplied firmware.
Its certainly possible that the firmware written by John Aycock and
heavily modified by me still has this same problem.  It sounds
very much like the parity problem I fixed in FreeBSD two weeks
ago.
