On this subject again. I'm not sure how the arm port works, but on the
standard Intel port, one can run an X application bypassing a
window/desktop manager with:

startx </path/to/application>.

In this case the only requirement would be xterm.

Would that work on the arm port and would that save me some MB of RAM?
