pciide(4) is the fallback driver for PCI IDE controllers.  It can't do
any device-specific configuration (for link speed) and doesn't do DMA
either.  So yeah, it's slow.

It's a nvidia product, so I guess a likely candidate for a more correct
driver would be viaide(4).  I'd start adding the IDs there and see what
it gets you.
