I install it to hdd and use it as a desktop os on a PIII with 400 Mb RAM. 


Boot the live disk and run the installer. Can try it in VirtualBox first easily enough. It is a bit quirky, but I find it very usable even on ancient hardware, and I am no expert.

With tinycore the default is to run from memory and you have to do things
so that the state gets saved or applications get loaded. That becomes a
pain if you are trying to use it as a normal desktop.

Can slitaz be configured to suit this use case?
