ah, yes, had forgotten about that ...

|--workdir should be an absolute path.

OK, have kicked off another compile with:

env PATH=${PATH}:/opt/SUNWspro/bin ksh ./bootstrap --workdir /store/pkgsrc/build --prefix /usr/local --pkgdbdir
/store/pkgsrc/db --pkgmandir man --sysconfdir /usr/local/etc --varbase /var

... will see how that goes ...
