This behaviour is in distribute dversion of bash and does not
appear to be pkgsrc-specific.

Please consider discussing this or reporting this to the
bash developers.
Or use the bashbug tool?

Is it okay if we close this PR since it doesn't appear to be
NetBSD or Pkgsrc specific?
