i've determined that, on this crappy old laptop (half dead hinote), if
i add either of

mpu*    at isa? port 0x330 irq 9        # MPU401 or compatible card
mpu*    at sb?

to the kernel config, i get instead

midi0 at sb0: SB MIDI UART

is that right?  i would have expected to see an mpu detected, and
instead a get a new midi device.  that make three for this machine.  :)
